STUDIO AURA / laura

STUDIO AURA is a creative production studio specializing in photography and video production; with a knack for working with artists, individuals, and small teams who want creative work that’s as thoughtful as it is beautiful.

Owner and operator Laura Sukowatey is an artist, dancer, and multi-studio owner based in Minneapolis, bridging performance art and production for over a decade.

With an education in print + broadcast journalism, photography, and design, she began her career in the tech industry at a Minneapolis startup, where she built and led a video marketing department from the ground up. After freelancing in production alongside the corporate marketing career for 11 years, she recently founded STUDIO AURA, a long-time dream.

This background in digital marketing and an eye for strategy means Laura is more than someone who captures visuals—she’s a creative partner. She works closely with clients to craft content that’s not only visually striking, but purposeful—designed to support your brand, connect with your audience, and deliver value.

A professional dancer and choreographer, Laura is passionate about making dance accessible. In 2021, she also co-founded Hothouse, a dance art space designed for both working artists and newcomers to pursue their dance aspirations.

Known for her distinctive artistic voice and compelling storytelling, Laura’s creativity, work ethic, and vision make her a driving force in every project she takes on — whether it’s a doc-style film that captures raw emotion, a headshot elevating a personal brand, an experimental portrait session, or capturing the essence of a live event.
